How it works
Built on Bitcoin. Built to remember.
Lynx starts with the most battle-tested idea in crypto, a shared ledger no one can rewrite, and stretches it into something bigger: a permanent, private home for data.
Part 1 · The foundation
Trust without trusting anyone.
The internet is an adversarial place. Servers get hacked, companies go under, and records quietly change. Blockchains were invented for exactly that environment. Every computer on the network keeps its own copy of the history and checks every new block against the rules. No single person, company or government can slip in a fake entry or erase a real one.
For more than a decade this has kept financial transactions honest. Lynx runs on the same Bitcoin Core foundation, so it inherits that same security.
Part 2 · From transactions to treasures
Your file, written straight into the chain.
Many "blockchain storage" projects only store a pointer to a file that lives somewhere else. Lynx stores the actual file, directly on the chain, with nothing in between that could break.
STEP 02
Lock it
Your file is encrypted automatically before it's stored.
STEP 03
Shard and store
Lynx splits the file into pieces and writes them into blocks across the network.
STEP 04
Keep forever
You get a permanent link. Retrieval is free, always.

Encrypted on the chain. Unreadable without its key.
Part 3 · Private by design
Public chain. Private data.
A blockchain is public, so how can your data be private? Encryption. Lynx scrambles every file before it's written, and the file's name is never stored on the chain. Each file gets a unique ID that works as both its address and its key, and that ID is never stored on the blockchain either. Without it, your file is just noise.
- Only people you share a file's key with can open it.
- Keys can't be guessed or found by digging through the chain.
- Encryption is always on. A file you never share can never be seen by anyone else.
Your key, your responsibility. No one, not even Lynx, can recover a lost key. Keep your keys somewhere safe.
Part 4 · Scale
Hundreds of chains. One platform.
Every blockchain has a speed limit. Lynx gets around it by running many chains at once, together known as the Lynx Data Storage Network (LDSN). They aren't stitched together. Each chain, Lynx included, is an independent, equal blockchain that works side by side with the others, all on the same proven technology.
400+
Independent chains live today, Lynx, Digitalcoin and Infiniloop among them, each an equal part of the LDSN.
500 GB
Of storage per chain, per year. Each new chain adds more capacity.
200 TB
Open for storage now, with unlimited capacity available as the LDSN grows.
0
Add-on layers. Queuing, sharding and access control all run on-chain.
Blockchain recycling
Giving dead coins a second life.
Thousands of crypto projects have been abandoned by their developers. Lynx is reviving some of them, switching them to energy-efficient Proof of Stake and putting them to work storing data. Holders keep every coin they own, with balances exactly as they were. Coins that had no use now help power the Lynx Data Storage Network.
Part 5 · Built to last
Green enough to run for centuries.
Anything meant to last 250 years can't burn the planet down along the way. In 2024 Lynx swapped energy-hungry Proof of Work mining for Proof of Stake and cut its power use by 98%. Today a node runs quietly on a Raspberry Pi or the smallest cloud server you can rent.
